Disco Bazz Presents "AOR" for The Ambitious C
A selection of essential "AOR" and some fusion, funk and smooth jazz numbers from Japan.I bring you my ultimate tribute to a period in my Japanese musical heritage.There was a weird period between 70s and 80s where Japan was pushing the envelope in contemporary jazz called "AOR". They were influenced by American bands like Airplay, Bobby Caldwell and Steely Dan. I can't pretend to have been huge AOR fans at the time, but have grown to love it now, with help from some friends.Using their records and cds, i tried give you our take on 70-80s AOR. It should be a real delight to your ears.I hope you to play more of it in the future. Special Thanks to: Junichi Kamata, Toshinori Shindo, Peta, Norihito, Hard Off, The Grid & The Japanese jazz scene.

スピンオフシリーズ第一弾。自分が生まれる以前 (～1989年)にリリースされた昭和のジャズ～フュージョン～ファンクの楽曲達をひとつのミックスにまとめました。70～80年代日本ではジャズミュージックの延長といわれるAOR/フュージョンというムーブメントが巻き起こり、多くのスタジオミュージシャン達が日の目を浴びた時代がありました。AORやフュージョンは独特な曲の構成や聴き易さから、海外のジャズシーンとは大きく違った形で変化を遂げていきました(故にAORという言葉は日本でしか使われていないそうです)。当時のムーブメントを体験した知人の協力のもとに集められたレコードを全てセルフリエディットした上でBPM/キー/コード進行を調節し、ノンストップミックスに仕上げました。Special Thanks to: Junichi Kamata, Toshinori Shindo, Peta, Norihito, Hard Off, The Grid & The Japanese jazz scene.
